iPad Stand & Light

Heads-up: The Luma Light has been discontinued, but we have a new alternative that works great.

Hubs, Cables & Adapters

USB-C Hub (connect bots → computer):

Cables & Adapters

For connecting bots to computers and hardwiring USB-C iPads to the router.

You can use the cable that ships with the bot, but it’s a bit short for clean cable runs.

Pens & Paper

Recommended pens (4x6 and larger): Use a permanent marker with a 0.5mm-0.7mm tip for clean detail. Our top pick is Staedtler Fine Tip.

Recommended paper sources (all sizes): 4x6, 5x7, 6x8, 8x10, and 8.5x11.

  • Vistaprint (matte, standard thickness)
  • Canon photo paper
  • Smartpress (12pt, coated semi-gloss)

Matte, semi-gloss, and gloss all work well. Always test your pen + paper combo before events, since manufacturer specs can change.

Routers, Networking, & Internet

Local Mode: The router is used for creating a local network when doing sketches in local mode. If the venue Wi-Fi is stable, this is not needed—you can use the venue internet instead.
Wi-Fi 6E: These routers support Wi-Fi 6E, which is so good it’s like a wired connection. If your laptop and iPad have or support Wi-Fi 6E (the latest iPad Air with M3 and iPad Pro do—we use the iPad Air at events like PBX), it’s ideal. Finding a laptop with Wi-Fi 6E can require some research—let us know if you want a recommendation.
